Bismillahi

And other special about thing about it, is that, you don’t have to buy a new Sim card like MTN and
GLO . The Etisalat sims are automatically USIM(Universal Subscriber Identity Module) which doesn’t need sim upgrade before it will work on 4G. According to their twitter hashtag, #Etisalat4GNeedNoSimSwap.
Here are the price
*. 1GB for N1000

*. 1GB + 500MB night plan for N1000
*. 2.5GB for N2000

How To Know If Your Smartphone is 4G LTE Supported

How To Know If Your Smartphone is 4G LTE Supported

Most of the telecommunications in Nigeria are now migrating from existing 2G and 3G services to genuinely high-speed mobile broadband on 4G/LTE and this is time for us to dump outdated 3G network and moves forward with 4G LTE network.
4G LTE allowed smartphone technology to spread its wings. That’s because it’s much, much faster than 3G. So when you want to download the new game or stream a TV show in HD, you can do it without buffering and legs that make the experience not worth the wait.

Using a 4G smartphone with 4G LTE network means you can download files from the Internet up to 10 times faster than with 3G.

Based on peoples comments in the previous post about 4G LTE, we noticed that lots of people cant different if their smartphone is 3G or 4G enabled device, now we are here to sort it out.

Whether you are using Android smartphone, iPhone, Windows Phone or even a Blackberry device, you can check if that your mobile phone support 4G network. The steps are very simple, just follow it accordingly.

To Know If Your Smartphone is 4G LTE Supported

For Android Device
Go to Settings >> Network Settings >> Mobile Network. It should give you a drop-down menu of mobile standards such as 2G, 3G or LTE (4G). If you don’t see 4G or LTE, then your smartphone doesn’t support the standard.
iPhone Users
Go to Settings  >> General  >> Cellular  >> Enable 4G LTE.
Blackberry Users
Go to settings >> Network and Connection >> Mobile Network >> Network mode and you’ll see 4G&3G&2G. however, if you are using Blackberry Q5 and below, you won’t get 4G network services.
Windows Phone Users
Go to Settings > Celluar + Sim > Highest connection speed and check if LTE is part of the options.

Once you’ve seen the 4G network, simply selected LTE and if the network is available in your location, the “LTE” symbol will appear on the phone status bar replacing either “3G”, “H” or “2G” symbols. Then you can start flexing on 4G network.

Glo Extends 4G LTE Network Services To 8 Additional Cities

Glo Extends 4G LTE Network Services To 8 Additional Cities

Just 1 week after Glo launched their http://tylercaldwellphotography.blogspot.com /2016/10/glo-launches-4g-lte-network-services.html" target="_blank">4G LTE network services in 9 major cities of the country; Glo has extended the 4G LTE network services to 8 additional cities bringing the total locations to 17.

The 8 new locations where Glo 4G LTE network has also been activated are Abraka, Agbor, Bonny, Ekpoma, Escravos, Forcados, Okada and Sapele.

This was done in fulfilment of Glo’s earlier promise during the launch of the 4G LTE network services to quickly make the services available in other locations in the coming weeks.

And with this pace, we believe that more and more locations will continually be added to the existing ones in coming weeks until Glo 4G LTE network service gets to almost every nook and cranny of the country.

Recall that during the launching of Glo 4G LTE service, it was also accompanied by Glo highly affordable 4G data plans, which you can always subscribe to by using the Glo service code *777#

Must Read: http://tylercaldwellphotography.blogspot.com /2016/10/airtel-where-are-thou-in-this-4g-lte.html" target="_blank">Airtel, where are thou in this 4G LTE network train?

Also available are Glo 4G LTE network router and 4G LTE network MiFi, which will enable you to access high speed internet both at close range and from long distances.

Finally, you should always have it at the back of your mind that Glo 4G LTE service runs on network frequency band 28 (700) and it is not enough for your device to be 4G LTE network enabled but also should be capable of running on that frequency band, otherwise you will still not be able to access Glo 4G LTE network service even if you stay in any of the current 17 locations that Glo 4G LTE network has been lighted.

How To Check Smartphone 4G LTE Bands And Frequencies Via Mtk Engineering Mode

How To Check Smartphone 4G LTE Bands And Frequencies Via Mtk Engineering Mode

4G LTE Service in Nigeria seems to be what’s in vogue and we are now moving out of 3G gradually for 4G service, each of the networks have different frequency bands for their 4G LTE and supported device is going to be the matter of contention.

To enjoy super blazing internet speed, it is not as simple as buying a 4G smartphone, inserting your 4G LTE SIM and start surfing with it. Guys, it is much more than that. Lots of people were disappointed when they discovered that their device doesn’t support Glo 4G band 28 (700Mhz) after cat walking into the Glo office to get USIM.

It is important to know your smartphone 4G LTE bands and frequency to avoid story that touch. I will urge you to fasten up your seat belt and stay glued to the next information that will follow because I’m about to embark you in an unknown journey; trust me, you will be safe.

Read through this article to find out everything you need to know about 4G LTE bands, networks and smartphone compatibility.

Right now, 3 major networks have the 4G LTE service in Nigeria and they are MTN, Glo and Etisalat. Other networks in Nigeria with 4G LTE services are Spectranet, ntel, Swift and Smile. We are expecting Airtel to roll out their 4G services soon. Most of the 4G smartphones in Nigeria use band 3, 4, 7, 20 or 28. Check out what band your preferred network has below:
  1. MTN 4G LTE , supports band 20 (800MHz) and Band 7 (2600MHz)
  2. Glo 4G LTE, supports band 28 (700MHz)
  3. Etisalat 4G LTE, supports band 3 (1800MHz)
  4. NTEL 4G LTE, supports band 8 (900MHz) and Band 3 (1800MHz)
  5. Spectranet and Swift, supports band 40 (2300mhz)
  6. Smile, supports band 20 (800mhz)
Those are the numbers folks and according what we heard, the lower frequencies tend to perform better in rural areas with fewer masts and they can travel through walls better with decent coverage while the higher frequencies do the opposite, but they can cope with more users in populated areas connecting at once. These are technical terms that I don’t think you need right now, whatever frequency your preferred network has, you should get some decent upload and download speed. You could download 1GB file under 4-mins, and this is a fact!

To Check Your 4G LTE Network Band Via Mtk Engineering
  1. Download MTK Engineering Mode from Google Play here
  2. Install the app
  3. Tap MTK Settings
  4. Tap BandMode
  5. Select your SIM
  6. You will see a list of band mode, from GSM to LTE,
  7. If you cannot tick the band 28 check box, then forget about using Glo 4G LTE service.
  8. If you cannot tick the band 3 check box, then forget about using Etisalat 4G LTE service.
  9. If you are not able tick band 20 or 7 check box, your phone is not supported for MTN 4G LTE service. If you use Ntel and you can’t tick band 8 or band 3, then your smartphone has no support for Ntel network.
For those who are not using MTK smartphones, before you purchase your next 4G Android smartphone, kindly ask via comment box below or simply tell us which 4G phone you are using and we as a family will help you out on 4G networks that supports your device.
